Head of the seminary’s Dar-ol-Quran and Hadith Center, Maryam Ali Bahjat, told IQNA in an interview that it lays emphasis on Quranic activities such as memorization, recitation, Tafseer (interpretation) and contemplation on Quranic concepts among the students.

The seminary is affiliated to Al-Mustafa International University.

She said it offers both religious sciences and Quranic courses and seeks to deepen, promote and enhance Quranic activities for the students.

Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), Islamic sciences, Tafseer sciences and education sciences are among the fields of study at the seminary, she noted.

Bahjat added that given the importance the seminary attaches to Quranic activities, it launched the Dar-ol-Quran and Hadith Center in 2006.

The center implements specialized activities and programs in the field of Quran memorization, Tarteel, Tajweed, and recitation, she stated.

It also offers specialized courses on reading, Waqf and Ibtida, and other Quranic sciences, the official went on to say.

Elsewhere in her remarks, Bahjat referred to the participation of the seminary’s students in national and international Quran competitions, saying they have won several titles in such Quranic events both in Lebanon and abroad.

She expressed hope that all Islamic seminary students will attach significance to learning and memorizing the Holy Quran in addition to their seminary studies.
